Em fevereiro de 1976, após minha formatura em Engenharia Elétrica, fui à Europa para averiguar a possibilidade de cursar uma PG. E também passear, pela primeira vez, no continente. Na Inglaterra, onde passei uns 10 dias, fui visitar a Uxbridge University, perto de Londres. Conheci alguns amigos. Já interessado em fotografia, nesta cidade comprei uma Nikkormat FT2 black com uma lente Nikkor 50/1.4. Depois, em Amsterdam comprei uma Nikon 135/2.8, excelente. Londres me impressionou e as fotos aqui mostradas foram feitas na cidade. Usei Kodachrome e também um outro filme. As fotos feitas com o primeiro mostram o quão este filme era bom, com cores fiéis e com pouca deterioração em 50 anos. Nesta viagem, ainda visitei Paris e Amsterdam. Sobre o curso, finalmente obtive uma bolsa do governo francês em junho de 1976 e fui cursar meus estudos de PG na Universidade Paris VI, onde também trabalhei como professor assitente.

In February 1976, after my Electrical Engineering degree, I visited Europe looking for a (post) graduation course. And, also, I would like to visit the old continent for the first time. In England, I visited Uxbridge University, near London. I met some new friends. Already interested in photography, I bought a black Nikkormat FT2 with the 50/1.4 Nikkor lens and, in Amsterdam, the superb Nikon 135/2.8. I was quite impressed by London town and the pictures shown here were taken with a Kodachrome slide film as well as another film. The photos taken with the first still have very good and fidel colors and high resistance to time. Indeed, these pictures were taken around 50 years ago. On this trip, I also visited Amsterdam and Paris. Finally, I received a French scholarship and I studied at the Univesité Paris VI, where, in parallel with my thesis, I worked in a teaching position.
