Cologne: the Gorgeous Cathedral and the Surroundings (2022)

English:
Visiting Cologne (Koln) in Germany means to contemplate its amazing cathedral. It is the Saint Peter church and a worldwide known monument. Some data from the net are now presented. Its construction started in 1278 and it took a very long time to be achieved; it reached its original medieval project only by 1880. It is 157 meters tall and the second tallest church in Europe. The cathedral is the most visited monument in Germany with around 20 thousand visitors a day. In this gallery, there are some pictures taken at the external and internal parts of the cathedral. Some photos, taken from the iron train bridge over the Rhine river, are included. There are some pictures of the old town, its restaurants and the central train station. Also, some few old pictures, taken in 1978 are presented. Koln is a very vivid town and it was nice to be there. We were lucky since the carnival (11/11) started when we arrived. This particular subject is proposed in another gallery.
