During my sabbatical year - 1993 - at the University of Akron, Ohio, my friend Nathan Ida (colleague in the department) and I, we decided that someday we would go for a Grand Canyon trekking. In 1996, I travelled to the USA exclusively for doing so with Nathan. That was indeed a great idea. I had an Olympus OM4T for slides and an OM1n for BW. We started the descent early in the morning and, in about 4 hours, we arrived to the Colorado River. Not very hard. The next day we climbed the Grand Canyon and that was a different story. Although we both practice regularly exercises, it was very very hard. Anyway, I could take pictures of this unique place. In this folder I inserted my BW photos but I still have many color slides to consider later. I also included some other pictures of the West National Parks taken in different trips. As usual for such a BW folder, I used directly my BW prints.
