Ponta do Coral - a Particular Place of Florianopolis (2019 and 2020)

Ponta do Coral is a small place close to Florianópolis downtown, nearby my home. It has been a subject of administrative fights for many years. According the law, it is a public place since every land near the sea cannot be private. On the other hand, some people claim that the area belongs to them; they wish to build a big hotel there. Let us forget this uggly dispute and take some pictures of this particular place while it is still preserved. In Ponta do Coral there are some fishers and boat garages (called 'rancho de canoa'). I visited this community and took some photos without any difficulty. In another part of Ponta do Coral, I couldn't get inside since, as said, some people pretend that they are the owners and do not 'allow' anyone to walk in. In spite of this discussion, Ponta do Coral is a nice place and I hope that will stay as is.
A curiosity about this place is Senhor Albino (or Senhor Albi, I am not sure) who, for many years, parks his car there and feed the birds living around (some people are against it, I noticed).
Concerning the pictures, I bought, for almost nothing, an old camera, the Olympus E-620 with the two kit lenses and I tested the gear in Ponta do Coral. I like very much Olympus brand and I was interested on this 2009 camera since it is one of the latest Olympus 4/3 DSLRs, before the company turned to Micro 4/3. I am quite happy with the quality of this small 12 Mp camera and the two zooms. The pictures came out quite sharp and the gear is pleasant to use.

Recently (2020), I added some pictures in this gallery. Some of them were taken in a Ponta do Coral area of difficult access last year (2019) since some people claimed that it was their own property, which was not true. For these last photos, I used a Panasonic Lumix G5.
