In 1987, we - Dylton and I - had the idea of proposing a photographic exhibition related exclusively to Florianópolis downtown at night. Its name, "Noturnurbano" is a contraction of "Nocturne" and "Urban" - Dylton's idea. In that time, film era, it was somewhat challenging. The available BW films (with only few exceptions) were Kodak Tri-X and Ilford HP5 (ISO 400). I used the Tri-X pushed 2 stops. Dylton, he pushed them up to 3200 ISO. My camera was a Nikon F3 with the Nikkor lenses 24/2.8, 50/1.8 and 135/2.8. Obviously, they were always used wide open. Then, after film developing, the difficulty was enlarging very constrasty negatives, what we did at our home labs.

Besides technical aspects, it was a very enjoyable work. Florianópolis downtown had - and still have - interesting spots. We certainly visited it about ten times until we had a sufficient number of photos.

Here, only my pictures are shown. Therefore, in the exhibition there were about 40 photos. Looking my photos now, I would certainly have a different choice today, at least for some. But, that is the way I judged this matter 30 years ago. The exhibition was held at the Federal University of Santa Catarina.
