Walking on (ex-oriental) Berlin with Arnulf (2022)

My friend and photographer Arnulf Kost lives in Berlin. I have been to his place several times and he came frequently to Brazil (mostly Florianópolis) as well. Walking in Berlin is always pleasant. It is a nice town with a peculiar curiosity. In USSR time, Berlin was divided in East-Oriental part (under USSR rules) and the West-Occidental one (USA, France and UK). Because the latter had a large financial support, the ruined buildings were torn down while the Oriental had to keep the old buildings. With the Wall falling, these old constructions could be renewed and modernized and, finally, the old style pre-WWII could be preserved. Around 30 years after the reunification, East Berlin became one of the most beautiful and charming parts of Berlin. On this walk we visited the Prenzlauer neighborhood and the vicinity of the Helmholtz Plaza, taking pictures of the classical buildings and restaurants, as described above. There are some pictures of other parts of Berlin. For these photographs, Arnulf lent me a Sony A7r III and the Carl Zeiss 24-70/4 lens along with the Minolta AF 135/2.8 with an adapter for keeping the auto-focus. Technically, the results are quite good.
