I escaped Pi Mai Lao (Lehn Naam in Thailand)for the first time in three years this year and went to Kuala Lumpur..

I missed all the fun but stayed dry!

You obviously had a great time in Changmai!
In Bangkok, there were more restrictions (for safety's sake - no pick up trucks, high power jets and the revellers were cordoned off to specific streets, etc) but the atmosphere was no less subdued. The streets were as crowded as ever this year as it was in 2006 when I was there!
