On day two of my workshop with Photo Cambodia's Eric de Vries we visited rural areas outside the city of Siem Reap; Kra Bei Riel village and market, Pradeo Temple and Mechrey Floating Vilage at Lake Tonle Sap. This day's shoot took me out of my comfort zone as we largely worked on "street" portraits of local people going about their business. No long lenses used, just a lesson in use of natural light, framing for an uncluttered background and gaining the cooperation of the subject. Almost everyone was happy to join in, and the one or two that weren't - no problem just thanked them and moved on. I found it challenging as its a style of photography new to me, but I'm happy with the results and learned a lot.
