I have never had much luck getting the "perfect shot" of this species.
Here's another try when he perched in front of my lens giving me a full frame shot!

Canon EOS 1D ,EF 600mm f4L IS with 1.4 II Extender
1/500s f/9.0 at 840.0mm iso400 full exif
