Asian Koel (Eudynamys scolopacea)
Size : Average 42 cm. This is a rather common bird shot
in my garden when it came for a visit. The female seen
here has distinctive barred markings whereas the male
has a glossy blue black plumage. The male is territorial
and noisy. It makes a ”ko-el” sound hence the name.

Habitat : Open woodland, secondary growth, scrub,
cultivated areas, parks and gardens up to 1200m.
