This modification was never implemented by the Porsche factory, but rather, by a few racers in the very early years of racing. According to Glenn Stazak, the first to design and engineer this particular concept was documented by Max Moritz. For the most part, and depending on who you ask, the 914 can improve its handling by simply not using or disengaging the rear swaybar, above, or under the rear trunk.
