NP - SOLD 02/2017! SHIPPED - 1974 Porsche 3.0 RS Alloy Crankcase - Type: 911/77 / sn 6840161

Engine Type: 911/77

Serial Number: 6840161

The engine type stamped on this crankcase is "911/77" and it designates the original factory engine specifications (displacement, induction, camshafts, h.p., etc.). The 74 RS and 74/75 RSR all share the very same Alloy crankcase. The serial number of this particular crankcase is 6840161 and it belongs to a 1974 Porsche 911 3.0L RS that's probably still running around somewhere without its original crankcase. Now that this case is fully restored and as good as new, my plan is to use it as the basis for my 3.0 Liter RSR engine build.

Interesting to know somone else is also making claims to the same 3.0 RS alloy crankcase serial number. Possibly a s/n typo in their part? http://www.early911sregistry.org/forums/showthread.php?83140-FS-Viper-Grun-Metallic-3-0-RS-looking-hot-rod&p=752631#post752631 I do know for a fact my 3.0 RS crankcase is the "real McCoy".
