A little history on Chassis # 9140431714. This particular Porsche was my very first 914-6. I always had a burning desire to own a 914-6 since the introduction to the U.S. Market in 1970. Unfortunately, in college it was not practical, nor in my budget, and commuting to school, etc.

So, I took a break from school in the summer of 1973, and decided that it was time to buy a Porsche. I found a 914-6 for sale in Manhattan Beach, and soon purchased it from a local USC College Professor. He had imported the vehicle via the Transol Car Sales Service company. He took delivery of the vehicle in Stuttgart Germany, and then drove the vehicle with his wife while on vacation. (Thus enabling him to import the vehicle as a used car, and reducing his tax liability).

The first service records on the vehicle are dated 03/07/1970, and are date stamped with the importing Distributor for Porsche & Volkswagen in the early 70’s “Volkswagen of the Pacific”. Since he lived in Manhattan Beach, VASEK POLAK in Hermosa Beach was the Porsche Dealer of choice for his car to be serviced. Where else could you have your vehicle serviced by factory trained Porsche mechanics who also maintained numerous Race Cars too?

My passion for 914-6's soon escalated, and was ignited when I spotted a 914-6 GT in Westwood Village, close to UCLA. I was now on a quest to buy that 914-6 GT. Later that year, my dreams were answered, and I finally convinced the owner to sell me their Porsche Factory GT.

In late 1978 it was time to return to school (had more than enough time to enjoy my Porsche). I had to make a decision; one of the cars had to go. Which one? The choice was an easy decision, the GT remained, and my first love for 914-6's was soon purchased by a Dealer who in turn sold the car, ironically to another college professor. This one was an instructor at the Andersen School of Business at UCLA. He drove the car for several years, and then parked it. I tracked down the owner, and he said that he decided to sell the car to Pelican Parts in El Segundo, CA. I soon contacted Pelican Parts thereafter, to see if the vehicle was still available, and I purchased the car on the spot without hesitation.

Well it is time to let my first passion go once again it has been in dry storage every since acquiring it form Pelican Parts. Now it is time for a new owner to take charge, as I have too many project cars that I am currently staging for restoration, and need the space.

The 914-6 still remains in the same condition as when I located it several years ago. Still even equipped with the original genuine Blaupunkt Frankfurt USA model radio. (I have the original owner’s manual for the radio).

Great restoration project. Excellent overall body condition considering that the car is over 40+ years old, little to no rust. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has the time & resources to rebuild the car back to its original factory condition. The interior is great overall condition considering its age. I have a new carpet set, US DOT taillight lenses which are in decent shape. A complete set of period correct Factory 5 ½ Jx 14 Porsche Fuchs that were an option for the 914-6. The vehicle also has a set of the standard 5 ½ J15 steel rims, with Porsche Crest hub caps too. The wheels that are currently on the vehicle are the newer version of 6 x 15 Fuchs. (Not the deep dish 911S type). I Have the Porsche Maintenance Record Book, 914-6 Owner’s Manual, and other related Porsche Service Manuals for the vehicle too. The 1970 CA Blue License Plate is for display purposes only! Not included in the sale of the vehicle.
