Something that at first glance appears to have come from an aircraft, maybe even a rocket. The way it's formed and made from a thin-sheet of Titanium stock.

Besides the "Hurley Haywood" and "David Donohue" signatures https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/166939846, I bought the piece because I thought it looked really cool. Once I had it in my hand, I immediately noticed this heat-shield weigh NOTHING and I had to have it! Come to think of it, a 917-30 is a 'rocket' so we're really not too far off with the initial impressions. Note the Porsche part number, if you Google that, nothing 'Porsche" comes-up, other than results for 'Calling the IRS' and/or a "Shipping Tracking Number'. That said, the German description written on the part; 'Auspuffabdeckung' returns an "exhaust cover". Makes sense to me! :-)
