Here is yet another pair of the very rare Carrera 6 (Porsche 906) Magnesium Intake Manifolds attached to a pair of early Italian made 46mm WEBER carburetors. A great find! I may end up keeping these 906 Mag intakes as they certainly add value by making my two liter 906 race engine even more complete. I'm now only missing the very illusive 906 Magnesium case.

According to the previous owner, these parts were taken off a 911R engine and were placed in storage since 1970's. One can see the surface corrosion https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/140155738 of the Magnesium, but since, those were already onced covered in ZEP Preserve to begin the restoration https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/142017812 the studs will be restored as well.

Other than the slight surface corrosion, the parts are in perfect shape and only need the beauty treatment! The goal is to make the surface nice and smooth, so they'll look like this https://pbase.com/image/34692368

I believe those brackets are NOT designed to work with the 906 linkage, but possibly for use in a 911 or 914-6 application. For comparison purposes, here is a photo of the first set of 906 Mag intake manifolds I had https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/35128198 I sold those to a 906 owner back in 2004.
