...This is one of the main components of the 914-6 GT oil-system which connects all other pieces together (oil-lines, console spacer, filter, thermostat and oil-pressure relief-valve). There are two versions, the early style made of magnesium while the later piece made of aluminum. The magnesium version being that it is now over 34 years old, are getting much harder to find in good condition (both have a tendency to corrode and disintegrate around the outside of where the rubber O-ring for the spin-on oil filter fits.

I was again fortunate to find out that I had the "magnesium" version of the "oil-tank-console" of the 2 pieces I had. The Magnesium version is approx. 1/3 the weight when compared to the aluminum piece. The magnesium version also has a darker color.
