Seller's Description:
Manufactured by Porsche AG in April 1970 to 914/6 specification and finished in Light Ivory, this car was delivered new to the French Porsche Importer in Paris, Sonauto.
In the mid 1980’s it was acquired by Richard Corey Smith (UK) from a garage in Rouen, France and then sent to respected UK Porsche restorer Roger Bray. Corey Smith commissioned a total restoration and professional conversion of the car to full GT specification. The work included GT chassis re-enforcement, wheel arch extensions, fitment of front oil cooler and great time and
effort was made to source and fit wherever possible, original GT parts.
This included fitment of rare 1970’s lightweight balsa NOS factory GT bonnet and boot panels. Post restoration, Corey Smith took the car to the Old Timer G.P. and sold it to Wolfram Reutter of
Frankfurt. Reutter has previously been the owner of the Chasseuil/Ballot-Lena Le Mans 914/6 GT. He then loaned the car to be put onto display for several years at the famous Rosso Bianco Museum in
Sinsheim.
The car was later acquired in 1997 by Adam Richardson, who competed with it on the Tour Auto, but DNF due to gearbox failure. In the late 1990’s it was sold to Mark Thompson and then again back to Germany to Marques Rodrigues who kept the car until 2003.
In 2008, the engine was rebuilt by 914/6 GT experts - Knüpfing Motorsport to twin-plug
specification, since when it has had very little use. The car restians its FIA Historic Vehicle Identity Forms, which now require updating to current HTP and will be offered with UK registration
and a current MoT. An excellent 914/6, which has been properly uprated GT specification.
Eligible for further use on the Tour Auto and or all manner of similar historic rallies and events.
