Seller's Description:
Manufactured by Porsche AG in January 1970 to 914/6 specification, this car was delivered new to the USA and finished in Irish Green.
In 2004 it was acquired as an excellent low mileage example and then sent by its present owner to highly respected Porsche preparers - Jim Newton Auto Associates in Connecticut, USA for a strip and conversion to full GT specification. - They uprated the car professionally to include correct chassis re-enforcements, extended wheel arches with 7’ and 8” Fuchs, plus rare 1970’s lightweight balsa NOS factory GT bonnet and boot panels, front oil cooler with metal shroud, roll bar, GT seats plus correct instruments and fuel gauge.
The car was afterwards imported to Europe in 2006 and road-registered in Switzerland. In 2009 the engine was rebuilt as single ignition / 210hp by Swiss expert - Johnny Chatillon and fitted with a re-enforced 901 gearbox (with steel bearing carrier and side shift adaptation).
The car has been issued FIA HTP papers (Passeport Technique Historique - Numero CH-5121) and has subsequently proved eligible and extremely competitive in historic competition on Tour Auto.
Tour Auto 2009 – 3rd overall in Group G
Tour Auto 2010 – 2nd overall in Group G (13 seconds behind a Porsche 906).
We are delighted to offer this extremely well prepared competition Porsche, currently Swiss registered and ideal for immediate use on many special events such as the Tour Auto or Classic Endurance Racing series.
