THE FIRST FIASCO! A call from a supervisor at the FedEx, Redmond, WA distribution facility. FedEx said they could not deliver the gearbox to the destination at European Autowerke in Fall City, WA. The reason, Courtney Karn Hegler shipped the gearbox with fluid in it and failed to drain the oil out of the gearbox prior to shipping. Per FedEx, this was now a 'HazMat' situation and we had to fix it quickly!

Hoping that the FedEx Haz-Mat ordeal was going to be our ONE and only trouble! But no, there was more coming, a lot more!. After the 2.5 hour-round trip from Fall City to Redmond and back by European Autowerke, Courtney Karn Hegler's so described 'freshly rebuilt 914-6 ZF LSD gearbox' was finally at the inspection shop (Courtney Hegler's shipping error cost me $160 for travel time by the inspection shop). Once European Autowerke was able to start the physical inspection of the gearbox, to our dismay, there was NO "ZF LSD" in this transmission. What was found was a worthless 'dime-a-dozen' 914-4 differential along with ALL worn out 'VW' brand gears, nothing 'Porsche' found inside here. NOTHING in The Samba For-Sale ad as described by Courtney Karn Hegler was true, NOTHING! Not the gears, not a 914-6 box, NOT rebuilt, NO ZF, and NO LSD!
