914-6 GT Front Oil Cooler - Period Correct Factory Oil Line Materials
Once again I hit the mother lode! Check this out...
One day while visiting Jim Torres at his shop, he mentioned having some period oil lines in a box https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/65589814 which he removed several years earlier from an RSR restoration project he was working on. According to Jim, someone had plumbed the car with these pieces making the factory built 911 RSR race car very incorrect. In fact, one oil line alone ran nearly the entire length of the car! https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/66827141 - When Jim pulled out the box, I simply couldn't believe my eyes, and for me, it was nothing short of a barn-find! It took the better part of that afternoon to convince Mr. Torres he needed to sell me those parts.
With their period correct serviceable fittings https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/65589816 and original hose material https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/66827203, I was able to easily make-up the second front oil-cooler oil line I was missing https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/66827144 completing the pair (there are two long oil lines servicing the front mounted 914-6 GT BEHR oil cooler). BTW, not all the oil line material I purchased was perfect, some hose sections were compromised and couldn't be used. The newly fabricated oil lines all had to be checked and pressure tested to insure reliability.
