Here we go again... Expecting a surprise for one reason or another, I was right in feeling the way I did, but was lucky on this one! I'll explain...

The 914 OEM NOS left-side (driver) rear turn-signal buckets are "NLA", this part has been for years. The eBay auction Seller describes the 914 rear turn-signal housing as the "Euro Version" which does not have the light-reflector at the outboard end of the ligth housing, like this https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/153633663, the U.S. versions of the same housings do, like this one https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/153633588.

Not to my surprise, I received the wrong part, the U.S. version of the housing and not the Euro version of the part as described by the Seller in the eBay auction. After taking a closer look, I was happy to see that all I needed to do to convert the U.S. version of the rear turn signal housing to the "Euro" was to simply remove the outboard reflector. The reflector easily slides in/out via a guided-slot molded into the plastic housing. BTW, this EOM and NOS rear turn-signal housing was only $195 on the eBay auction, certainly much less and at approximately 1/2 the price of the $395 that most of us now see for these items offered to the public.

The only flaw with this item is that it did NOT come with the OEM rubber seal. The rubber seal that was included with this housing was 'made-up' using some aftermarket source. This wrong non-factory rubber seal has several splits/seams as it goes around the housing https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/153633612, and it clearly creases https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/153633608 (photo lower left) at each corner unlike the factory OEM part which was custom designed and molded as a one-piece rubber-seal which exactly follows the counter of the turn-signal housing, a perfect fit.

Does anyone have an OEM and NOS right rear (passenger side) turn-signal housing, either U.S. or Euro for around $295? I would like to complete the set. Please contact me at AJSERRANO at MSN dot COM ~ Thx!
