10K VDO Tachometer - 911R (OEM or Reproduction?)

The back of the can in this instrument indicates 15000 Imp (Impulses or Impressions) https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/43237066 and not the expected 30000 Imp associated with original VDO 10K tachometers. I will have to do a bit more research to confirm its authenticity.
