We had a H-53 from Udorn with all stuck landing gear. One brave fool went out under the helicopter while it was hovering and attached a pair jack stands in the fall of 1969. It worked. They landed gear up without a dent in the paint. That was some flying!

Landing with right main gear transient indication. Mx procedures were to stack mattresses to help hold acft up if gear collapsed. This stack was a little short but it looks like gear went down.
