I was headed out to teach an hour long drum lesson and I decided to leave the dog (Kodak) out of his crate for the first time.
After making sure he did his duties outside, I set up a video camera in the corner of the living room to record the action.
When I retuned (almost 2 hours later) I listened to the audio and occasionally watched the video while making dinner.

I think he may have a slight separation anxiety problem.
The first 40 minutes, yes, 40!, were of him pacing the living room and the kitchen while whining; obviously confused and sad.
The last 20 minutes of the hour long tape were of him finally laying down on the edge of the couch.
Not a toy was touched, a bone bitten, or a ball chased.
