Tainan and the area around it are loaded with beautiful temples, some of the oldest in Taiwan. There were temples to Ma Zu, the Queen of Heaven, and also to Tian Hou, who is Goddess of the Sea, if I recall. And Guan Gong, of course! I can't figure out which is which, because I'm not sure where we were. Probably paying too much attention to the great food we kept eating.
