Located on Lantau Island, Po Lin Monastery is home to the world's largest outdoor bronze Buddha, the Tin Tan Buddha, measuring more than 100 feet high and weighing 275 1/2 tons - it's huge! Sadly, the place is far more commercial than it was even four years ago, when you could hear the sound of the monks chanting more than the babble of hoards of tourists. It has lost its holy atmosphere now, and I didn't stay long this time.
