Poorly lit, but this brilliant charmer needs no spotlight! He brings his own! Mr. Jelly Belly is the *original* patriarch of all the Baltimore Orioles who return to my neighborhood after their Costa Rican winter holiday every year. He flies into town the first week of May, announces his presence like the superstar that he knows he is, and then greedily gobbles up all the magic elixir I offer: Concord grape jelly! He is carb loading, you see....in weight training to bulk up for another successful breeding season wherein he will sire and instruct no less than 4-8 youngsters this summer, many of whom will survive to return to the neighborhood next year. This is Mr. Jelly Belly's 4th summer with us, and I hope many more delightful years will follow!
