Here are the events that unfolded on 8/26/08 at the web of my garden Argiope, or Golden Orb Weaver spider. While getting my camera, a friend witnessed the spider leaving a previously wrapped grasshopper to pounce on a newly entangled fly. By the time I got to the web, the spider had the new prey almost completely cocooned in silk and was rolling it faster than a lumberjack on a sequoia! To inquire about photo purchase or usage:
