"Let each citizen remember at the moment he is offering his vote
that he is not making a present or a compliment to please an
individual--or at least that he ought not so to do; but that he
is executing one of the most solemn trusts in human society for
which he is accountable to God and his country. "

Samuel Adams, The Writings of Samuel Adams, Harry Alonzo Cushing, editor (New York: G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1907), Vol. IV, p. 256.

(I hope every US Citizen performed their duty as a citizen and voted.)

Part of the November Challenge which is A Song, A Poem or A Proverb.

Every four years, like clockwork, since the 18th century. Stunning, almost as amazing as the red in those trees.

This image, set against a beautiful autumn background, will be an iconic reminder of another landmark day in your country. Whether or not one agrees with the outcome, many heavy burdens have been placed on the incoming president and he will need much support to carry them.

Nice pairing of two different versions of "red" in this image.

I'm saddened today by the outcome of the election. This country was based on Biblical principals that are going away fast. I pray that God will continue to Bless this country and we will have to see what our future holds. I'm a Bible thumper, so to speak, and believe in the Word of God. Everything that the now elected president stands for is far from Biblical...my own opinion. I know I'll probably get slammed for writing this but I must stand on truth and the Word of God. Love this image and may God continue to bless his people, the people that know Him!

Beautiful contrast with the trees. Are the others written on the other side?

Love the contrast, the sign stands out nicely against the beautiful red trees. Nice composition and goes with the quote wonderfully. Good job.
