The Island of Taquile on Lake Titicaca is over 5 sq kms and is home to some 300 families who maintain strong ties to their traditional ways of life. The island commands spectacular views of Lake Titicaca and the Cordillera Real of Bolivia and is covered with traditional Inca terraces that are still cultivated today.
