These blue posts mark the line in the earth where, in 1906, the Pacific Plate scraped by the North American Plate and the ground shifted sideways by 19 feet. The San Andreas Fault line runs right through the middle of nearby Tomales Bay. We did experience a 3.9 earthquake on our first evening in Napa Valley several days earlier. It was quite mild.
