Point Reyes National Seashore is a hidden gem in the National Park system. It lies along the Pacific coast about an hour's drive north of the Golden Gate Bridge. The Point Reyes peninsula is separated from the mainland by Tomales Bay which has the distinction of having the San Andreas Fault run smack dab through the middle of the bay. The scenery is outstanding here from the lighthouse to Drakes Beach & the elephant seals to the Tule Elk Preserve on the road to McClure's Beach. The view of the peninsula from the top of Mount Vision Road is exquisite. Instead of wasting another day with the throng at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco watching another silver spray painted bum do the "robot", drive up the coast to Point Reyes for spectacular scenery.
