Bridgework

Every day we hurriedly travel from home to jobs to social engagements and shopping without noticing some of the beautiful infrastructure right under our noses. It's time to take a closer look. Here are some pictures of the Grand old Lady of Delaware River bridges in Philadelphia, the Ben Franklin Bridge. The bridge was opened in July, 1926 as the longest suspension bridge in the world. It is showing its age as you can see in some of the photographs in the gallery but it is an important part of the Philadelphia skyline.
