I started playing with layering double exposures for a more painterly
effect last fall after reading an article in Outdoor Photographer.
One exposure sharp but shallow properly exposed and another front
focused and overexposed 2/3 to 1 stop. The image captured with a
telephoto lens to isolate the subject. The properly exposed layer
pasted over the off focus layer and opacity adjusted for blending (55%
in this image).

This is great ! I got lost with your explanation of the Tech side , but then I still maintain that Some assembly Required is from the evil one ....I need to get far more digital darkroom savy ..again thanks for inspiring me !
