Japanese Beetle is an imported pest that devours many ornamental plants. They usually show up in Middle Tennessee around the second week in June. They are about 3/8s to 1/2" long.

Wonderful macro,the combination of the flower and this beetle is great, is a shame that this small beetle is so destructive, because looks wonderful in the photo, I love the details great shot!

Man I hate these things. They are crawling all over our Maples and Crape Myrtle and making a mess of them.
