Rovinj,(veraltet Ruwein) ist eine Stadt in Kroatien an der Westküste der Halbinsel Istrien. Sie hat 14.234 Einwohner (Stand: 2001), davon gehören 16,74 % der italienischen Minderheit an.
Im Westen und Südwesten ist die Stadt vom Adriatischen Meer umgeben, im Norden vom Limski-Kanal. Im Osten liegt der Vorort Rovinjsko Selo, und etwa 25 Kilometer weiter die Stadt Kanfanar. Im Südosten liegt der Vorort Kokuletovica und etwa 9 Kilometer weiter die Gemeinde Bale.

Rovinj is a city in Croatia situated on the north Adriatic Sea with a population of 13,562 (as of 2007). It is located on the western coast of the Istrian peninsula and is a popular tourist resort and an active fishing port. Istriot, a Romance language once widely spoken in this part of Istria, is still spoken by some of the residents. There is a centre of History Research which is an institution of the Council of Europe.
