The Emperor and his wife is buried here and in some ways the tomb is unremarkable but his wife's tomb which is a short distance away from his is more ostentatious which is decorated with broken ceramics and coloured glass. The tomb complex is open aired in courtyards and then finally a temple. There are no roofs to the temple but the tomb is contained in one of the many open courtyards. There are statues dotted throughout the complex and areas set aside in honour of the Emperors concubines, the military and mandarin scholars. Each courtyard has a name for example the Honour Courtyard.
