There is nothing more divine than the inside of the St Magnus Church at Kirkwall in the Orkney Isles. The outside building looks at first glance to be an uninspiring red brick building of Victorian origins but on closer inspection it’s actually red and yellow sandstone built over 800 years ago. The inside although simplistic is absolutely magnificent and like that famous time machine looks much bigger inside than out.
