Multiple shots merged together to create a wide panoramic.

You can get away with this distortion on landscapes, but the rectilinear projection isn't ideal on close ups such as these.

Good practice though!

As you say it works on landscapes , but I think it works brilliant. Like your pictures on your web site as well as flickr. Mike Jennings
