I can see how it can be a difficult task. It's easier to accomplish with the DSLR camera, but a lot of advanced point and shoot cameras, now days, will let you set up ISO manually. If you can get it to 800, 1600 or higher, your exposure time will cut down dramatically and your image will be much sharper. Of course, you have to take in consideration that your noise will increase. I hope this helps, but if this is something you know by now, please disregard this message.
