"Martin Army Community Hospital"
Named in honor after Major General Joseph l.Martin, MC, pioneer in field medicine and medical military education and training.
This hospital is easily seen from the highway, while the building stands tall upon Houston Hill, from where you can overlook the surrounding area. Ground was broken in July 1955 and the construction was completed in April 1958. The cost of the Hospital is 6 Million Dollars and stands as a living symbol of the service and progress of the Army's Medical Service and its component parts.
