I was fortunate to find a patch of clear sky in between the clouds. I have seen the photos and watched the videos but it is not comparable to seeing this phenomenon in person. Warm sunlight washes over your face and suddenly the landscape around you darkens like nightfall. You have seen the sun and the moon a thousand times but not like this. The oohs and awes can be heard and you know why.
