London, UK. This was our landing point and first stop in our trip around Europe in May/June of 2002. Contrary to what people told us, London was one of the cheapest cities we visited. The New Atlantic Paddington hostel just north of Hyde park only cost around $17 a night, buses were $3 a day, and sandwiches at Sainsbury's were only 3 for $2.20. It was a truly fantastic place, with lots of things to see. I couldn't help but notice how incredible Westminster Abbey looked, regardless of the typical London weather.
