Dear Guest. If you are a member of any Northwest Tribe around your area, you might check with them to see if they have a Cultural committee or group that could give you info on any groups or classes available in the area. You might also look up Northwest Basket Weaver's guilds in Washington state. There are also several books available if you are the type who can follow directions. Imbrication was a technique used by Cowlitz women, but they also did plaiting and twining. I believe there are basket weaving groups around the Centralia/Chehalis areas. In addition to that, there are several groups on facebook, one of which I know has tutorial videos available on some techniques. Hope this helps.

I am a 55 yo white woman living in Woodland Wa, Cowlitz County. I am interested in the possibility of learning to weave baskets like the ones made by the Cowlitz tribal women
