First discovered by Tom Kloster in 1981, Chak Chak Falls tumbles 100+ feet in a remote corner of the Salmon-Huckleberry Wilderness in the Mount Hood National Forest. The name "Chak Chak" is Chinook jargon for "bald eagle", after the bald eagle population which lives in this valley.
