The lips are done in petite cross stitch. I also used petite cross stitches in a couple trees to give them more detail. Be not afraid! There are only 20 of them.
Please don't allow the fact that there are a few petite cross stitches deter you from stitching this project.
When I worked this piece, I used linen, but hadn't gone through the silk conversion yet, so I used DMC. If you use DMC, it will take approximately 6 skeins. I encourage you to use silk.
If I were to do this piece again, these are the colors I would choose. I would also use a Lakeside Vintage linen. I would estimate that it will take nine skeins of silk.
