These are our favorite images from our trip to Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge in New Mexico. We spent five days there in November 2006 to witness and photograph the Sandhill Cranes and Snow Geese that had migrated there by the thousands. We were treated on two mornings by the most incredible blast-off of birds that we have ever witnessed, as thousands of Snow Geese took to the air at once and flew overhead in a thunderous roar! On the last morning, we were treated to a sunrise through the icy fog rising off a pond full of Sandhill Cranes, as the temperature hovered around 10 degrees F!
