I found this caterpillar on one of my clay pots.The plant in the pot was an aloe but I have tomatos, peppers, desert rose, christ thorns, young mulberry trees and other cactus. It's purplsh pink with 4 white stripes down his head, black diagonal stropes along the side of his body and a long skinny pink horn on his ass kinda like a dogs tail when he's pointing out game.I have a picture but I can't find it anywhere. He looks very poisonous.He is smooth with no hair at all. He is a beautiful color. Like raspberries and cream.What is he?

we found a huge green caterpillar sunday 10-27-2013 and put it in a big coffee can got up Monday morning and it is in the cocoon stage u cant even see it it is wraped up in the leaves just wonderning how long it will be like that .

I just walked out on my porch and there are like so many catepillars around my porh. They are 2 inches in lenghth theirblack on top and yellowpattern on side and bottom what kind are they. I live in atlanta ga. Neverr in my life have I seen so many big beautiful catepillars

The caterpillar we found was bright red with one red stripe down its back and it's not on either of these lists. We live in NC

i can't find mine either! Mine is grenish yellow with black spotts.it is hairy and we named it "Hairy"!

I just saw about fifteen large black hairy caterpillars in my driveway,in Douglasville Ga. what are they and why have I never seen them before

I agree with others that this is the best web site I've found all afternoon for trying to identify a caterpillar. However mine is not there. In CA, about three inches long. Fat, no hairs. Deep green with two black stripes along dorsal side. Along the stripes are little boxes of black with a creamy line inside each, maybe a touch of coral. One tail spine, creamy with black tip. Eating my Mexican rose (?) stems. Hope to hear from you soon!

Live in Florida. One of my oaks is COVERED every year with tiny little green caterpillars with a black dot head that swing down to the ground on a silken strand. They turn into little white moths. What are they???

I can't find a photo of this fuzzy little caterpillar. description: brown head yellow fuzzy body with 2 tufts of longer black fuzz on each side of it's head and 2 of white and on its back end there are two black tufts. It's underbelly is orange. The tips on top of the little guy down the center of it is brown. What kind is this if anyone can tell me.

Hi Tom, I have just found a very large caterpillar in my garden. It is about 3 1/2 inches long and as fat as a man's thumb. Pinkish on back blending to dull green on sides and has a green head. All its sections are marked with a light pink line on the edge. I have never seen a caterpillar this big before.

The picture of the so called moth caterpillar is indeed poisonous.I was in my corn patch when the back of my hand hit one.Boy did it let me have it!It took me a while to find it and when i did i put it in a jar and took it to the DNR.My hand hurt worse than any bee sting i ever had and got preety swollen.By the way bee stings dont bother me.

I observed a hairless caterpillar crawling across the street. It was brownish gray with beautiful red markings--not stripes but sort of blotchy. I live in Maine near Portland.

I wish now I had taken a pic of it. Any idea what it might be--I could not locate a similar one in your gallery.

I have them all over the place - and I know their not what my husband claims they are - and everyone seems to think they are very poisonous.
