Scientific name: Eos bornea bornea (Linnaeus, 1758). Status: CITES II - Endangered.
This bird is red with a blue vent and undertail coverts. The wings are black and red with blue coverts. Eyes red, beak orange, legs charcoal. The tongue has elongated papillae on tip that
become erect when feeding. The natural distribution is Indonesia: Ambon, Saparua, Foram, Ceramlaut, Watubela and Kai Islands; and the Moluccas.
