Luau at Coconut Plantation, Kapa'a

To an extend every Luau is an entertainment directed to tourists, and thus driven by the taste of the visitors. Some Luaus appear too commercial, performed on large stages with electric instruments. Some are too big to enjoy any personal attention as a guest. This particular Luau was our best favorite on Kauai! Good dancers, nice proportion of artistic presentation and good culinary offering.

However, in year 2010 we found the premises closed, fenced off and abandoned.
Much has changed on the Islands as a result of the economy crises.

Glenn: you probably mean the image 11-02! Thanks for the information. What a similarity to pineapple!

As it come to Oakland, yes, indeed you picked "the worse place of the Bay Area," as I firmly believe. But, its all so subjective, isn't it?

That's not a young pineapple, it is a relative both being bromiliads (mosquito plants). Don't try to eat it. The leaves are very, very sharp and sometimes used as 'attractive security'. Thanks for sharing your photos, It's been seven years since I moved from Wahiawa Heights, Oahu to Oakland, California; lousy swap if you ask me. Imua, Kamehameha!
